The genesis of my work connects the conscious and unconscious, reflecting our connection to all the natural elements, beauty and challenges of daily life. My paintings explore the spiritual and sensual connections and energies experienced on a daily basis.

When creating, I am lucky to feel a synesthetic interconnection; within myself, with others and the environment, often feeling and seeing the energies present. This experience materialises intuitively as both abstract-landscape and nature-focused pieces, as well as internal spiritual and imaginary visions of the important aspects of this life and my journey within it.

Background

Paul Amourdedieu loved and followed the path of the arts for the first half of his life (including martial arts and boxing) and dedicated himself to them. This included a spell at the London Institutes’ Camberwell Art College (which, in a nod to the power of true balance, was also his most successful competitive boxing period!).

After moving into the business world and studying in both Birmingham and Leeds, Paul followed a career in marketing communications. For over two decades he has worked with a wide selection of international brands, musicians, artists and charities; coupling his natural creativity with strategy and insight.

In 2019, Paul realised he was only exploring a small part of his creative self and decided it was time re-embrace sensory and abstract painting.
